Video Editor
SummarAIze’s Video Editor makes it fast and easy to polish your clips — no complicated software needed. In just a few minutes, you can trim clips, add dynamic captions, insert titles, upload images, autocrop for different platforms, and export your final video.
Before You Start: Best Practices for Editing
To get the best results when using the editor:
- First, trim your video and export it.
- Then, use Auto Crop.
- Finally, add captions, titles, and any other effects.
Following this order ensures that your captions and effects stay perfectly positioned after cropping, and your video looks polished across all platforms.
How to Access the Video Editor
- Navigate to the Clips tab inside your file.
- Find the clip you want to edit.
- Click the Edit Video button to open the video editor.
Step-by-Step: Editing Your Clip
1. Trim Your Video
- Click on the video timeline to set the start and end points.
- Drag the trim handles to adjust the clip’s length.
- Use trimming to focus on the exact part of the conversation or moment you want to highlight.
2. Export (Before Cropping or Styling)
- After trimming, export the trimmed clip.
- Exporting first ensures that cropping and styling will apply correctly to the right section of the video.
3. Auto Crop for Different Platforms
- If you're publishing to TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Reels, or LinkedIn, you’ll want the right aspect ratio.
- In the editor, select a preset like Vertical (9:16) under Auto Crop and click Generate.
- SummarAIze automatically keeps your speaker centered in the frame for a professional look.
4. Add Captions (Dynamic Subtitles)
- After trimming and cropping, add captions to make your video more engaging.
- Click on the Presets tab to find animated subtitle styles.
- We recommend using the Import with Layer option for captions that auto-sync to your speaker’s words — similar to what you see on TikTok and Instagram Reels.
5. Insert a Title
- Add quick context like the episode name, guest name, or topic.
- Click Add Title, type your text, and drag it anywhere on the video.
6. Upload Logos or Graphics
- Click the Add Media button to upload your logo, brand graphics, or any custom images.
- You can also access a stock library for quick additions.
7. Final Export
Once you're happy with your edits:
- Click the Export button.
- Download your finished video, ready to share anywhere you want!
